The movie “Parasite” is being adapted for theater in Japan as COCOON PRODUCTION 2023 “ Parasite,” and Yoko Maki was casted as Chiyoko, the wife of Mr. Nagai.

At first, I was surprised to find that the movie “Parasite” was being adapted for theater in Japan, then I was surprised once again when I learned that I would be taking part in it. As the original piece is a wonderful work, I feel the pressure, but I am already looking forward to the rehearsals because Mr. Furutaand all the other cast members are my “jolly friends.” I haven’t worked with Mr. Chong since the filming of the movie “Yakiniku Doragon.” He was a kind director on the movie set, but rumor has it that he is a strict, “hard-hearted producer” at stage rehearsals! I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with him on stage, as well. It’s a “Japanese version” that features the great elements of the original piece, made into a very original stage play. I will do my best to make it a wonderful work.
